CityVille Leveling Guide

As with all other Zynga games, progress in CityVille is divided into different levels. Currently, CityVille has 50 levels. No doubt, Zynga will gradually increase the number of levels, as more players reach level 50. In order to level up, you need to earn experience points (XP).

XP can be gained in a number of ways. Every task you successfully complete in your city will earn you XP. Trading with friends and neighboring cities also nets you XP. The usual Zynga social networking features apply to CityVille. If you click on your friends’ Live Feeds from Facebook, you get XP, coin and Energy rewards.

Sensible management of energy and XP will help with your leveling strategy. Remember that when you level up, your Energy bar is completely refilled. Time your actions so that your last bit of Energy is used up just as you earn enough Energy to attain the next level. Every time you level up in CityVille, your maximum Energy is increased. Since almost every action you take in the game requires Energy expenditure, getting more energy to work with per session, is vital to your quest for CityVille domination.

Completing goals and obtaining all the items needed to fill sets of collections, will earn you lots of XP, making your leveling happen quicker. The first few times you level up, your maximum Energy increases by one point. From Level10 to Level 27, it changes a bit. You only get an Energy point increase for the even-numbered levels. That means that your maximum energy for both Level 10 and Level 11, is 21 Energy.

You will reach the maximum Energy at Level 28. From Level 28 to Level 30, your maximum Energy is 30.  Be aware that the XP requirement for leveling up increases in a non-linear manner, as you go up the levels. For instance, when going from Level 1 to Level 2, you need 4 XP. When you level up from 49 to 50, there is a much bigger 251 XP difference.
