CityVille Franchises

CityVille is the new game from Zynga and is played on Facebook. The usual Zynga game mechanics are present: you need to use Energy to do tasks and perform business and construction actions. You earn XP for almost every action you take. XP is used for leveling up. The higher level you are, the more stuff you can build and buy, and the more coins you can accumulate in profits.

One of the more interesting features in the trading system of CityVille, is the introduction of franchise businesses. Instead of just owning a bunch of individual little shops in your city to make money, you can build shops on vacant ground in neighboring cities. Once you have multiple shops in more than one city, you have a franchise going.

The franchise feature is good for business for both you and your friends. Every time you trade goods or restock your franchises, they receive coins. The same applies to you: when your friends build franchises in your city, you will get coin benefits.

Once you reach level 10, you can start multiple franchises. What makes owning a franchise different to normal small businesses, is the inclusion of a franchise HQ in your city. The HQ enables you to make more money from your individual businesses. One of the many business-orientated tasks you need to complete, is to conduct a bit of industrial espionage. This involves sending out spies to assess your neighbors’ businesses, thereby increasing your competitiveness on the market, and increasing your potential profits.

Concentrate on expanding your franchise empire, rather than just the size of your city. Remember that building on other people’s city ground space costs you less Energy and less in terms of expansion blocks in your own city. The bigger and more expansive your franchises become, the more XP and coins you will be earning per session that you play CityVille.
